Getting Started with Digital Legacy Vault
Set up your vault foundation with one collection, one important record, and one trusted contact.
Help article
This article is written for visitors arriving from support chat or first-time setup questions.
Step 1: Create your first collection
A collection helps you organize related information so the right records stay grouped together.
- Family access
- Financial information
- Property documents
- Business records
- Emergency instructions
Step 2: Add an important record
Start with information your family would struggle to recover if it were unavailable.
- Passwords
- Insurance policies
- Property details
- Banking information
- Important documents
Step 3: Invite a trusted contact
Choose someone you trust to help carry out your wishes if access is ever needed later.
Trusted contacts do not automatically receive access to your vault.
- Spouse
- Adult child
- Sibling
- Parent
- Attorney
Step 4: Link collections to trusted contacts
Choose which collections a trusted contact may help with in the future.
You remain in control of release rules and access conditions.
Recommended first goal
Aim to complete one collection, one important record, and one trusted contact. That gives you the foundation of a digital legacy plan without overbuilding on day one.
