This policy explains what information Digital Legacy Vault handles and how it is used to operate the service. Digital Legacy Vault is a product operated by TheDevLab.
1. Information we collect
- Account information such as name, email address, and authentication identifiers.
- Operational data such as collections, trusted contacts, access requests, confirmations, timestamps, and billing-plan status.
- Encrypted vault content and encrypted document uploads, which are stored in encrypted form rather than as readable plaintext.
2. How we use information
- To provide account access, vault management, trusted-contact flows, and delayed-access workflows.
- To send service emails such as invites, access-request notifications, reminders, and security-related notices.
- To enforce product limits, improve reliability, and keep the service secure.
3. Security and encryption
Sensitive vault records and document contents are encrypted before storage. The service stores operational metadata needed to run the app, while secret content is designed to remain protected at rest.
No online service can guarantee absolute security, but we use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the platform and account data.
4. Service providers
We may use third-party providers for infrastructure, storage, authentication, email delivery, analytics, and billing. Those providers process data only to support operation of the service.
5. Retention and deletion
We retain account and service data for as long as necessary to operate the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.
If you close your account or request deletion, we will handle the request in line with our operational and legal obligations.
6. Your choices
- You can update profile details, trusted contacts, and release rules from within the app.
- You can cancel paid subscriptions before renewal through the applicable billing flow.
